Welcome to my blog, I hope you enjoy my photos

I have set up this blog to show my photographs from the Kerry County region, one of the most beautiful areas of Ireland. The slideshow below is showing a randomised selection of some of my photos. Click on any photos to open the slide show in Picasa, where it can be viewed in a larger format!

My Equipment

Camera Pentax K10d, weather sealed camera. I love this camera because of its size and weight. I like large heavy cameras, and find them easier to hold steady, and that the more bulky a camera is, the more it will absorb shocks from the shutter release.

The Battery Grip, with extra battery + buttons for most camera functions. The grip allows easy one hand holding of the camera by extending the hand hold area.

18-55mm Wide tele macro, a nice wide to standard lens + petal type hood.

50-200mm tele macro + petal hood, covers the medium ranges, good for portraits.

55-300mm tele macro, a good multi purpose zoom covering a good range of possible photos.

Samsung SEF-36PZF Flashgun, a re-branded Pentax gun at €100 less than the Pentax gun, all functions are identical.

Tripod, general tubular legged model, with three adjustable levels for legs. Presently doesn't have a quick release clamp head.

Monopod, very light to carry when walking, and gives extra stability at slow shutter speeds.

Digital cable release, good for long exposure tripod shots, has ability to time shots from minutes to hours

+4 & +8 ND Filters, used for extending exposure times, and allows wider apertures in bright lite.

1-2-4-10 Close up lenses, when screwed to a lens front enables very close Macro shots. (very critical to focus).

hama rotory polariser, adds colour to skies, accentuates clouds, cuts reflections from bright surfaces.
